Three days
of workshops, speeches and sessions. That’s what we got when the staff of
International Services attended the annual seminar for International affairs in Higher Education Institutions in Finland.
From Monday
to Wednesday 21.-23.5.2012 we had the chance to meet our colleagues, there were
about 500 of us, and discuss mutual problems and current issues concerning
international operations in higher education. We swopped ideas and best
practices among each others, heard many opinions in different panel discussions
and also greetings and regards from the national agency CIMO.

The seminar
was held in Lahti. Part of the programme was held in Sibelius Hall which was
the first time I visited there. Organizers were Lahti University of AppliedSciences, Lahti University Consortium and Cimo. TAMK was also represented well
as International Coordinator Camilla Kalevo conducted a roundtable session on Administration of Grants for Study Visits in
Finnish Higher Education Institutions.

It is
important to be on the cutting edge of what is going on in the field of
international affairs in higher education. These three days filled the purpose.
Thank you Lahti and colleagues!
