Timber expertise from Germany

Prof. Dr. Friedbert Bombosch from Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst Hildesheim Holzminden Göttingen (HAWK) visited TAMK on 15 - 18 March. Prof. Bombosch gave lectures about timber transportation on peatsoil areas and modern inventory systems with harvesters to TAMK students of Forestry. During the same week, there was also a group of students from HAWK in Kuru learning about the use of timber in construction.

HAWK and TAMK have signed an Erasmus cooperation agreement that enables student and staff exchanges between the universities. Prof. Bombosch (right in the photo) met Ari Vanamo, Head of Degree Programme in Forestry, and Riku-Matti Kinnunen, International Coordinator for Engineering, over a discussion about current cooperation activities and future plans.
